The whole population of Southern Tasmania seemingly awaited the arrival of the Sussex with the Duke of Gloucester to-day. He received a reception on a gigantic scale from thousands ol youngsters, including Scouts and Girl Guides. Later he witnessed a spectacular exhibition of eurythmics at a local sports ground, in which 5,000 boys and girls participated, the children finally forming a large map of Tasmania. wj,tb the word “Welcome” in the centre. There were also official and public receptions at the Town Hall and Government House.
