PEEPING SUSPECT

NEIGHBOURHOOD ALARMED [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, November 15. “ People in the locality have complained and have been in a state of alarm because a man has been peering into windows. We are not certain, but we strongly suspect the accused,” said Senior-sergeant Fox in the Police Court this morning, when Bernard Victor Cottier, a labourer, was charged with being an idle and disorderly person and with being unlawfully on premises. Mr Mosley, S.M., heard the case. Accused pleaded not guilty to a charge of being idle and disorderly and guilty to being unlawfully on premises, and was sentenced to three months with hard labour on the latter charge. The first charge was dismissed.
