BELOVED PRESIDENT

EK-HEW ZEALANDER ON ROOSEVELT [Per United Press Association.! ’ WELLINGTON, September 17. ‘‘ He is the best man in the world,” asserted Miss Mary M'Mahon, formerly of Christchurch, now of Mobile, Alabama, who arrived by the Maunganui from San Francisco to-day on a visit to relations in the South Island, when asked what she thought of President Roosevelt. “He really is a marvellous man,” continued Miss M‘Mahon, ‘ because ho is so sincere and for the people, and it is so easv at any time to get in touch with him. There is nothing high and mighty about him. One doesn’t need a thousand letters before one can reach him. On a recent trip to the West people travelled hundreds of miles just to see the tram on which he was travelling perhaps aud to catch a glimpse of him.”
