“BLUES” WITHHELD
BUT GRANTED DN APPEAL [Per United Press Association.'] CHRISTCHURCH. September 14. The Now Zealand University Tonrnameiit Committee at the last Easter tournament did not award Now Zealand Blue sto two of the championship events of the swimming section. The award was withheld on the grounds that live two girls concerned wore not eligible for their Bines, in that they were not members of the Auckland University Swimming Club at the required time, as provided by the rules. The two girls appealed, and Mr Twyneham (Christchurch) was appointed arbitrator. He lias upheld the, appeals, stating that the girls concerned were members in the academic year of the tournament, and therefore were entitled to their Bines. These, have non- been forwarded by mail. The arbitrator made a note on the award that the evidence, and admitted facts disclosed that in the past tournament committees bad been guilty of carelessness in examining and chocking the qualifications of candidates for Bines, and it was recommended that in In! nre greater care be taken.
