IMPERIAL EX-SERVICEMEN'S ASSOCIATION
SHOOTING MATCH Members of the above association were the guests of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve at its headquarters depot to shoot against the successful B team of the R.N.V.R., which recently won the coveted Palmer Trophy. The shoot was keenly contested, resulting in a win for the R.N.V.R. Supper and community singing followed, and many interesting and amusing stories were told. In congratulating tlvc B team in bringing home the Palmer Shield, Commander Watson referred to the able coaching by Lieutenant-commander T. G. Connolly, which enabled the young men of the R.N.V.R. to roach such a satisfactory state of perfection. Lieut.com. Connolly, in reply, stated it would not have been possible to have accomplished what they had but for the able assistance rendered by the other officers of the division. Commander Watson then extended a warm welcome to the Imperial Ex-servicemen, and expressed a desire to see more of them competing on the range. Mr Lilly, president, replied that some of their members in the nast had expressed a wish to form a rifle club, and as a result a meeting had boon arranged to discuss matters.
