WOMEN'S HOCKEY

EXECUTIVE MEETING At the weekly meeting of the executive of the Women’s Hockey Association, held on Monday evening, Miss Hill presided. The Secretary reported that all arrangements were in train for the dominion tournament team, all those players selected last week being available. Good practices had been held in spite of adverse weather. The team would leave by the second express tomorrow, Mr Moore agreeing to accompany it as coach. During its stay in Christchurch the team would be boarded together. All aspects of the question of the South Otago and dominion tournament teams, together with correspondence thereon, were discussed at length. As the action of the sub-association in withholding its players was considered prejudicial to hockey, it was unanimously decided to suspend the subassociation. MANIOTOTO TEAM. A trial match will bo held at Logan Park on Saturday at 2.30, when the team to make the trip to Ranfurly on September 8 will bo chosen. The following players are requested to attend: —Misses D. Wells (K.), M. Sims (K.), E. Campbell (V.), I. Palmer (M.), H. Robinson (K.), J. Emslio (M.), O. M‘Lean (D.), Toliill (O.), E. Keane (O.), V. Horan (M.), E. Pringle (M.), E. Newlands (V.), Ellis (K.), Bewley (M.), Sturgeon (D.), I. Bennett (M.), D. Brosnan (D.), F. Mehalski (D.), if Thomson (V.), Morton (O.). Miss I. Lee was appointed manageress of the team. JUNIOR GRADES. It was decided to close the B and C grades on Saturday with the following matches (should there bo a tie in either grade a play-oif will lie decided on September 8): — B Grade.—Otago v. Technical School, at Oval No. 1, at 1.30 (Miss Dnrward) Momona v. Taieri, at Logan Park No 1 (Mr G. Cummings); Y.W.C.A. v. University (Y.W.C.A. win by default); Dunedin v. Kings, at Oval No. 2 (Mi M. Cameron). C Grade.—West Harbour win by default from University; Y.W.C.A. v. Otago, at Oval No. 2, at 1.30 (Mr Brown); Momona v. Dunedin, at Logan Park No. 4 (Mr J. Leith); Taieri v. Kings, at Logan Park No. 2 (Miss Sutherland).
