The annual meeting of tlie Cromwell •Municipal Brass Band was held last week, an attendance of fourteen members being presided over by Mr D. A. Cahill. Mr D. A. Cahill was re-elected president, and thirty-two vice-presi-dents were elected. The following appointments were made by Conductor Gordon Sergeant, C. Betts; corporal, S. Bragg; lance corporal, W. Smart. Mr F. Partridge was re-elected secretary, Mr E. Jolly auditor, and Mr D. Smart librarian, in his remarks, the Chairman expressed appreciation of the assistance given by the Borough Council, and the question of organising a queen carnival to raise funds was noted for future consideration. GOLF. , The Cromwell Ladies’ Golf Club’s bogey match, played on Thursday, resulted in a draw between Mrs Paterson and Miss Partridge, and a recount over the fast nine holes decided the match in favour of Mrs Paterson, who was 2 down, Miss Partridge being 4 down. RAILWAY RIFLE CLUB. W. W. Webb, after shooting off a tie with three others, was declared the winner in the final competition for a club trophy. With 79 on the target the same competitor took the gold button, the silver button being won by A. Hansen. Scores: T. Olds, 75-5-80; A. Hansen, 72-8-80; W. Webb, 79-scr-79; A. Politick, 76-3-79; J.
