STREET APPEAL FOR BOYS
The annual street day of the Young Men’s Christian Association will take place on Friday, Tbe plan is to devote Friday to a canvass of the city streets, followed by a house-to-house collection during the following week. The immediate object is the collection of 4,000, shillings. Money is needed annually to meet the loss in budget by the practical and expert work for boys. To-day many boys must necessarily be given free privileges and other concessions. Unemployment amongst parents necessitates this. The response by citizens and courtesy extended to the Y.M.O.A. collectors has in other years proved the sympathy and regard in which the Y.M.O.A. movepient is regarded. There must be in every city some institution that deals with the problem of youth, and it is doubtful if there could bo any other institution which could bid for the hearts and interest of young men as the Y.M,C,A. The continued sympathetic support of the assooiation’s collectors on Friday is solicited.
