FLOGGING ORDERED
THE TIRAU ROBBERY AND ASSAULT [Peb Uhited Press Association .] . HAMILTON, August 28. ■ A sentence of four years with hard labour and a flogging was inflicted upon John Leslie Florence, aged 23, by Mr Justice Herdman in the Stiprenm Court this morning on several charges involving assault and robbery in the Tirau and Matamata districts, Florence was found guilty on Thursday. His Honour described the case as ono of the worst dealt with for some time.He pointed out that had Hose, the victim, been struck on another part of the; skull the injury might . have proved fatal.
