KINGSFORD SMITH’S PLANE
NO CERTIFICATE OF INSPECTION COMPLICATED SITUATION Press Association —By Telegraph —Copyright. WASHINGTON, August 27. (Received August 28, at 2 p.m.) It is understood that there is some possibility that Sir JKingsford Smith’s Lockheed plane may not be admitted to England because the Department of Commerce hero has not yet granted certification of inspection. The department, in response to representations by the Australian authorities, sought data from the Lockheed factory 7, but this has hitherto not been forthcoming. There is some fear that the department may 7 contend that it cannot issue a certificate for an aeroplane which it has not seen and which was shipped from the country 7 before it could inspect it for details on which admittance into Engand apparently depends. Every effort is being made to straighten the matter out.
