RESTRICTION OF PAYMENTS ABROAD SERIOUS ECONOMIC SITUATION CREATED Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 29. The Berlin correspondent of ‘ The Times ’ says: “ The cumulative effect of the restriction of payments abroad, combined with foreign countermeasures, threatens a serious economic situation. A recent meeting between British cotton spinners and German consumers resulted in the appointment of a committee which approached the authorities in an endeavour to finance British deliveries of yarns, outstanding claims for which amount to £500,000.
