RAIN IN AUSTRALIA
CYCLONIC CONDITIONS DANGER OF FLOODS. Press Association—By Telegraph— Copyright, SYDNEY, July 30. (Received July 30, at 11 a.m.) Cyclonic conditions brought rain .to nearly every part of the State during the week-end. Torrential falls caused flooding and wasbaways along the coastal ; districts. The full force of the stofm was experienced in Sydney, where rain has fajlen continuously for sixty - _ hours. Severe damage has been done in th* suburbs. - Many parts of the north coast are flooded, and with farther heavy falls it in anticipated that danger of widespread floods exists. The Gloucester, Nambuccaj and Manning, and Hawkesbury Rivers - have broken their banks, inundating the lowlying areas. The main western highway is blocked. Rough seas, whipped up by an easterly gale, pounded the coast, and coastal vessels had stormy passages. The Wanganella, from her Tasmanian cruise, arrived at the heads rolling in a heavy beam sea, but she was only an hour late. The cyclone is now moving to the southern part of the State.
