The bout was one of the best seen in Wanganui, and was marked by a pleasing absence of gallery play. Detton won tiie match by working on Michot’s left arm with hammerlocks. finding a weakness caused by an injury suffered by the Frenchman at Auckland when he met Walker. The first four rounds were in Miohot’s favour, and he secured a fall in the fourth round after throw, mg Dettop with three forward headlocks and then applying a crotch lift and slam. In the sixth and seventh rounds Michot conceded submission falls, Detton working hammerlocks.
