FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIPS Press Association—By Telegraph— Copyright PARIS, Juno 1. (Received June 2, at 10 a.m.) DOUBLES. ' SEMI-FINALS. Crawford and M'Grath defeated Menzel and Hecht, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1. Borotra and Brugnou defeated Quist and Turnbull, 6-2, 14-12, 6-2. MIXED DOUBLES. SEMI-FINAL. Quist and Ryan defeated Crawford and Miss Scriven, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1. WOMEN’S DOUBLES. SEMI-FINAL. Miss Jacobs and Mrs Palfrey defeated Miss Noel and Mile Jedrezjowska, 6-1, 6-4. . Mcnzel and Hecht began very strongly against Crawford and M'Grath, but at the beginning of the second set the Australians took control. Menzel and Hecht both failed to reproduce anything like the form they had shown against Perry and Hughes. Borotra and Brugnon displayed their old-time generalship in defeating Quist and Turnbull. The second set took an hour to play. Quist failed to win any of his first four services, and was also uncertain overhead throughout the match. Brugnon gave a brilliant display of driving.
