An air Franco liner had an extraordinary escape when approaching Croydon; when the patrol gave out 100yds from the aerodrome. The pilot, Captain Defives, was forced to land hurriedly. He banked sharply and flew in, the wheels scraping a car hood and knocking down a fence, damaging the* wings and tho undercarriage. The six passengers and tho crew of three were shaken, but uninjured.
