Sir, —1 sec by your paper that the Dunedin North and Leith Amenities Society had a meeting the other night and want the side of the hill at the end of Duke street planted with (lowers and shrubs to beautify the district. But ilicv say nothing about the slaughtering’ of the bush in the gardens immediately below the place they want beauti-fiedl-nothing about ail the native bush that is being destroyed, nothing being left but stumps of fuchsia trees, a gang of men taking the bush in a face and clearing everything in front of them, with nobody in cliaigc.—l am. etc., Watch noo.
