(Received May 21, at 10.5 a.m.) As the result of negotiations in London with the Premier of Queensland (Mr Forgan Smith) a British company is being formed to operate on the concession areas in North Queensland, held by the Commonwealth Mines Preliminary Syndicate, Ltd. The chairman of the new company will be Sir Hugh O’Neill, the first Speaker of the House of Commons of Northern Ireland. The capital will, be about £600,000. The concession covers 70,000 acres, which have been prospected for gold and other metals.
