In February, 1933, the Government •decided, in view of the low prices then ruling for primary products, to temporarily reduce by ,15 per cent, the classified rates for ■ conveyance of certain classes of these goods by rail, the loss to the railways to be borne out of the vote to the Department of Agriculture. In April last, having regard to the better prices obtaining for wool, sheep, and lambs’ skins and hides, this special concession was withdrawn in so far as these were concerned. The position. has been further reviewed by the Government, and it has decided to withdraw forthwith the concession in respect of frozen mutton, frozen lamb, and tallow. SALES ON ’CHANGE: THIS DAY.
