“MADE IN SCOTLAND.”
The United States, perhaps unintcn. tionally, is doing Scotland a grave disservice. For some time past Scotland lias been doing its best to guarantee the high quality of iis products and manufactures by ah extension of the trad* mark “ Made in Scotland ; but unless the intention of the -United States Customs is altered, all goods from the British Isles will be classified as mada in Great Britain or Northern Ireland.’’ No one can if ■ the United States considers that it is necessary that its imports should be marked with the country of origin; but when a country is proiid of its products.it seems to bo illogical and needlessly inconsiderate to hide its individuality under a generic designation:—•- Weekly 1 Scotsman.
