The fortnightly meeting of Court t’ridc of the Leith was held on Wednesday last, when there was a large attendance of members’ and visitors, with C.R. Bro. W. Dillon in the chair. The case of a member in distressed circumstances was considered, and it was decided to donate a grant of £5 from tlm benevolent fund, and to refer the case to the district executive for further relief. An invitation from (hurt King Edward’s Pride to its next meeting 'was accepted, P.D.G.R. Bro. H. ('“Williamson wa.s nominated as judge foV the general efficiency competitions for the next term. Official visits were received from Courts St. Andrews, Excelsior. Little John, King Edward’s Pride. Woodland’s Pride, Queen ol Green Island, and Enterprise. The C.R. welcomed the executive officers and gave the customary toast, and the C.S.R. tendered t| ie same to the visitors, which was responded to by P.C.R. Bro. 4. Patton (Court Enterprise), C.S. Bro. C. H. .M'Kcich (Court St. Andrews), P.C.L. Sister Kane (Court, Queen of Green Island), C.R. Sister Shcpphcrd (Court Woodland’s Pride), P.G.R. Sister Roberts (Court King Edward’s Pride), PG R Bro. Davies (Court Little John),’ J.B. Bro. Brcmncr (Court Excelsior), and P.G.R. Bro. -1. Holt (Court Star of the Dunstan). Duncan) presented the court with the challenge shield which the club bad won from the donors, Court King Edward's Pride. The D.C.R., on behalf of the district, presented P.D.C.R. Bro. 11. C. Williamson- with' a token of appreciation of his services while a district officer, and stated that the recipient had given faithful service to the district and had risen to his present rank from the juveniles. Ho then handed over a pedestal electric reading lamp, and also a useful gift for Mrs Williamson The District Secretary also spoke on the work of Bro. Williamson since his admittance as a juvenile member. In returning thanks Bro. Williamson stated be appreciated the gifts from the district, and was sorry iiis term of office had expired. It had been an education to him while on the executive, and ho thanked that bodv for kind assistance always extended to hint, and also thanked the courts for courtesy which they had always shown him on his various visits. Five nominations for membership were accepted, and the evening dosed with a dance.. . , At the fortnightly meeting ol Court Bruce, Milton, C.R. Bro. J. S. Lambert presided over a very good attendance of members. Bros. A. and Jas. MKcchnic returned thanks for expressions of sympathy in their recent bereavement. P.C.R. Bro. J. Begg wa.s elected to fill the vacant position of S.C.R., and Bro. R. Price was elected as J.B. These officers will be installed at next meeting. The Social Committee reported that a meeting had been held to make preliminary arrangements for holding the sixty-ninth anniversary of the court, and the centenary ball. This will be held on a larger scale than usual, and the Social Committee was given power to add to its numbers. It was agreed to entertain the members of the Juvenile Court attached to the court, at next meeting. A sub-eom-mittee was appointed to make arrangements for paying an official visit to Court Little John, at Dunedin, at. an early date.

C.R. Bro. C. H. M'Keich presided at the fortnightly meeting of Court Saint Andrews, there being a large attendance of officers and members. Invitations were accepted from Courts Pride of the Leith, King Edward’s Pride, and Marion. Tickets were received from the secretaries of the combined Foresters’ Ball Committee, to be held on June 4. Official; visits were received from Courts Pride of the Leith, Excelsior, Little . John, King Edward’s Pride, Pride of Dunedin, and Enterprise. The C.R. extended a hearty welcome to the visitors, which was responded to. P.C.R. Bro. W. Ross, on behalf of Court King Edward’s Pride, presented the court with the shield recently won in the cribbagc tournament, and congratulated the court on its second consecutive winOn behalf of Court Pride of Dunedin, Bro. A. J). Miller presented the shield won by Court Saint Andrews in the waltzing competition, and congratulated the court on its being the first winner of this shield. During the eyenipg five new members were duly admitted, and one nomination was accepted. At the conclusion of the meeting the first round of the “ 500 ” card tournament was played, and resulted as follows :—Court King Edward’s Pride defeated Court Enterprise ; Court Excelsior won against Court Little John, Court Pride of Dunedin won against Court Pride of the Leith, and Court Saint Andrew’s had a bye. At next meeting the sisters are to entertain the bi’others.

Court King Edward’s Pride held its fortnightly meeting on Thursday last, there being a fair attendance of members. Owing to the absence of the C.R.,- the meeting was under the charge of P.C.R. Sister Gordon. The committee of the Foresters’ combined hall forwarded a supply of tickets, for that function Reports were tendered of the. official visits to Courts Pride of the Leith, Robin Hood, Pride of Dunedin, Saint Andrew’s, and Enterprise. During the evening one new brother and one new sister were admitted, and two nominations were accepted. P.C.R. Bro. A. S. Dyke addressed the meeting on behalf of the Management Committee of the juveniles, and outlined the amount of work attached to work among the juveniles, and urged on the adult members to give all the assistance they could to the youthful members. Sister W. Richardson, who is the C.R. of Court Princess Mary, also spoke on the same subject, and asked for the co-operation of members. The court decided to invite Courts Pride of Oamaru and Victoria to he present at a meeting in July next. P.C.R. Bro. J. Walton was nominated as a judge for the general efficiency competitions. After the close of the court a dance was held.
