BREAKING AND ENTERING CHARGES [Per United Press Association.] PALMERSTON NORTH, April 30. In the Police Court to-day Patrick James Burke, a labourer, aged fortyfive, was charged with being found in possession of explosives without lawful purpose and with stealing a revolver. He was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to be concurrent. Burke was committed to the Supremo Court for sentence on charges of breaking and entering the Gaiety Theatre, Napier, and stealing goods and money and breaking and entering the Manavvatu Club at Palmerston North, and stealing money and goods. In each of these two cases evidence was brought to show that explosives had been used on safes. The accused pleaded guilty, and was remanded to Wanganui on a charge of breaking and entering at Halcombe.
