FURTHER ATTEMPT OH RECORD 'The Otago Swimming Centre has granted W. J. Jarvis permission _ to make another attempt on the New Zealand 100 yards record of 55 l-ssec, held by Noel Crump of Auckland, and tho attempt will be made at the Municipal Baths on Thursday night at 8.30. Since establishing his record, Crump has further reduced it to 55sec. which now awaits recognition as the record. In his previous ‘ attempt on Crump’s record, Jarvis registered 56 l-ssec, which is claimed as the fastest tune ever returned by a New Zealander m fresh water.
