DO NOT DIG IN LIME
Lime in any. form should bo kept as near to tire surface as possible, being but lightly forked into the newly-dug soil. It tends, to sink, and must therefore be spread oil the top. Nearly all soils and all crops (with perhaps the exception of potatoes) derive benefit from lime dressings. Rhododendrons, azalias, etc., that have a peaty soil should not be given linte, but fruit trees and bushes and most flowers and vegetables require lime as well as manure. Now is a good time to apply the autumn dressing on all ground that has been dug over.
