CHESS RECORDS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —As an ex-champion of New South Wales and a chess writer of standing I write to protest against the false reports in New Zealand papers concerning an alleged Australasian chess record made, in Sydney on March 2. Tho writers do not seem to he aware of the fact that the alleged record was an advertising “ stunt,” and that no serious attempt was made on Goldstein’s record established in Now Zealand about a year ago.—l am, etc., J. A. Kinmak. Sydney, April 12.
