CROQUET
It is intended to devot* some space in each Saturday’s issue to items of interest to croquet players. The secretaries of the various clubs are asked to send in notes to “ Diana ” not later than Wednesday in each week. Corruponddnce is invited and inquiries as to fine points of the game or other matter* connected with croquet will he answered as far as possible. End of Season. Alost clubs are bringing their seasons to a close. The only event of interest during Easter was the Otago Central tourameut, held at Alexandra, which was concluded on Thursday evening, play being carried on under electric light. The weather was very good throughout, and the tournament a great success. The results are as follows : A GRADE. —Championship Singles.— Air G. Hart (Timaru). Air H. S. Reid (Alontecillo) runnerup. —Championship Doubles.— Air and Mrs Kirk (Geraldine). Mr Hart (Timaru) and Airs Munro (Leith) runners-up. —Handicap Singles.— Mrs Kirk (Geraldine). Air Kirk runner-up. —Handicap Doubles.— Air and Mrs Kirk (Geraldine). Mrs Teller (Gore) and Mrs Rivers (Alexandra) runners-up. B GRADE. —Handicap Singles.— Mr H. S. Reid (Alontecillo). Air Rosevear (Opoho) runner-up. —Handicap Doubles.— Alesdames Aletcalf and Al‘Gregor (Talnui). Air H. S. Reid and Mrs Barry (Montecillo) runners-up.
