The ‘ Daily Herald ’ says it is expected that the French disarmament Note will reach London at tho end of the week, and though polite it will he a complete rejection of the Simon memorandum, making it almost impossible to continue negotiations.
SIR JOHN SIMON QUESTIONED NOT YET READY TO EXPLAIN POSITION. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 5. (Received March 6, at noon.) Questioned on tho present position of the disarmament problem, Sir John Simon said that Captain Eden’s visits to Paris, Berlin, and Rome were of importance, but the Government was not yet in full possession of the views of all the Powers concerned, and he would prefer not to make a statement on the subject until his information was complete.
