A general discussion on manufacturing problems took place. Mr S. Bowman presided. Mr \V. M. Singleton (Dairy Commissioner) was present, also Mr Clayton, Mr Cunningham, and _Mr Beatson, officers of the dairy divisions In welcoming Mr Singleton! Air Bowman said that it was the first conference held during the working season that the chief had attended, and the managers were looking forward to something special; In rising to speak, Mr Singleton said that it gave him very much pleasure to be present and to have the opportunity of meeting managers, and to discuss with them problems that affected the industry. After a lengthy address, which, included the explanation of the new regulations re registration of factory managers, Mr Singleton expressed his willingness to answer, to the best of his ability, any question managers wished to put forward, of which full advantage was taken. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr Singleton for his interesting address.
