CITY RESERVES.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —A word of praise is due to the reserves department for the very useful
work that is being done in the various recreation grounds around the city. The work that is being accomplished by the very efficient staff, in conjunction with the unemployed labour, deserves much appreciation from the residents and also sporting bodies in Dunedin. I am quite sure that if all relief labour were utilised on productive work the same as by the reserves department, nobody need worry about wasting money. A trip around the city reserves is time well spent. The Mornington Football Ground and Tonga Park are samples of work which must prove an asset to sporting men next year, when I am led to believe they will be set firm for events ahead. I trust that at some future date the Montecillo Ground will also be levelled the same as Mornington.—l am, etc., Odd Sport. February 26.
