DRUIDISM

Olive Branch, Juvenile Lodge, held its usuaLmeeting, and A.D. Bro. Powell presided over a good attendance, Superintendent D.P. Bro. Morris being in charge. An invitation from the Lily of the Valley to attend next meeting was accepted. Two candidates were proposed and admitted, the officers performing their duties in an efficient manner. An apology was accepted from Bro. Ingle, a member of the executive. It was decided to forgo the next meeting on account of the visit to the Lily a day before. After routine details had been disposed of the lodge closed early. . Arch Druid Bro. N, A. Ingle presided over a good attendance of members of the Lily of the Valley Lodge, No. 11, U.A.0.D., at its fortnightly meeting, held in the Albany Street Hall on the 21st inst. District President Bro. R. Morris, of No. 1 District, attended the lodge in his official capacity. .A.D. Bro. Tyrrell and the officers of Linden Lodge paid the lodge a surprise visit. Other visitors included P.D.P. Bro. ,1. Faulds, P.D.P Bro. E. Reeves. P.D.P. Bro. H. Brockie, P.R.A.D. Bro. A. Bundle, and P.A. Bro. T. Borrow—all of Ivanhoe Lodge. After’ the correspondence had been dealt with two candidates, T. Burgess and C. Wilson, were initiated into tiro mysteries of Druidism. Sick pay amounting to £4 13s 4d was passed for payment. The notice of motion to increase the secretary’s salary by £5 per annum was put before the lodge. Moved by P.D.P. Bro. J. Freeman and seconded by P.G.G. Bro. B. Reed, it was carried by a small majority. The Grand Lodge order paper was discussed by the lodge, and the G.L. representative, Bro. H. Green, was given his instructions on the various remits. An A.D. charge was held. Five brothers competed, and it resulted in P.A. Bro. J. Robertson being declared the winner. D.P. Bro. Morris presented the prize on behalf of P.D.P. Bro Brockie to Bro Robertson, who suitably replied. " The lodge was then closed. The next meeting, is on March 7, when the Olive Branch Juvenile Lodge will be entertained.
