Binks was one of those determined men who stick their jaw out at adversity and send it whimpering up a corner. When he fell out of work he was _ not long in deciding his course of action. Any idiot, he considered, could cut a man’s hair, so he opened a barber’s shop in a workingclass neighbourhood. After his initial effort at hair cutting, lie proudly handed his customer a mirror. The man took one quick look and staggered. “ Wow!” he wailed, ‘ wot have yor cut it wiv— a knife and fork ?”
