BUSH PERILS. An inquest concerning the death of Herbert Tonks, a married bushman, who was struck by a piece of wood while working in the _ bush at Waituhi on February 6, dying later in the Taumarunui Hospital, was held, and the coroner returned a verdict of accidental death. R. J. Turner, a well-known settler of Hamilton Bay, Pelorus Sound, was crushed by a log and sent to the Nelson Hospital. The extent of his injuries is unknown. FATAL COLLISION, A verdict of accidental death was returned at an inquest at Invercargill into the circumstances surrounding the death of Isabella Jukes, aged eightythree years, and Henry Jukes, aged fifty-two years, her son, who were killed when a motor car in which they were travelling from Dipton to Invercargill crashed into an electric power pole near the Winton racecourse on the evening of Christmas Day,
