Mr Boomer, who was very proud of his voice, wished to sing at the village concert. Two of the promoters of the affair were discussing his application. n Boomer certainly lias an amazing voice said one of them. I remember that the last time ho sang in public his voice so completely failed the hall that the audience went out to make room for it.’’
