CONCERT AT ST. KILDA BEACH
The St. Kilda Band and a select concert party are giving a programme of instrumental, vocal, and elocutionary items at the St. Kilda beach rotunda on Sunday evening next. Mr Alf. Pettett has consented to act _as accompanist. The band is playing at the top of its form, and as this is the last. performance it will give before leaving for the Wellington contest it will, play, the test music—the quickstep . march, Twentieth s - Century ’‘ Proinetheus ( Unbound,’ by Granville _ Ba’htock; ‘ Princess Nada,’ by Denis Wright (test selections)and hymn test, ‘ New Rochdale.’ The band has been putting in a lot of extra rehearsals and a most enjoyable evening’s entertainment is assured. This band has been a very good friend to the unemployed, assisting them by giving entertainments towards their funds, besides filling a large number of other charity engagements, and on this occasion has generously agreed to devote half the proceeds of the concert to the mayor’s relief depot, St. Kilda. The promoters look forward to a generous response from the public. If the weather is wet or inclement the entertainment will be held in the Coronation Hall, St. Kilda.
