SUNDAY TRADING RESOLUTION [Pun United Press Association.] HAWKRA, February 7. At tho annual conference of the Dominion Federation of Master Grocers to-day two remits from Auckland were approved. These were;? — (1) “That the conference strongly protests against tlve growth of Sunday trading and would respectfully draw tho attention of the Minister of Justice to what it regards as a considerable laxity on the part of the Police Department in dealing with this growing evil.” (2) “ That the conference urges upon tho Government the desirability of amending the Shops and Offices, Act. 1921, by substituting for the present interpretation of an occupier the following:— ‘Occupier means the person or company owning tho business and in shops or offices occupied by a body of persons corporate or incorporate, the manager -shall be deemed to be included in the term occupier so long, however, as such term shall apply only to a manager in charge of a business and not to branch businesses associated with it.”
