NEW YORK WAITERS

INCIDENTS OF THE STRIKE Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, February 5. The waiters’ strike, which has been uneventful during the past few days, assumed a different aspect to-day when 1,000 pickets, accompanied by their wives and children, clashed with the police in front of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Several were injured before the police were able to clear the street. Strikers who were picketing the Casino de Paree, a large cabaret attached to the establishment, smashed all the doors and plateglass when, according to them, they were targets for a barrage of whisky bottles thrown from an upper window.
