RIFLE SHOOTING
WEST TAIERI DEFENCE CLUB On Saturday the. club fired the second match of No. 5 competition, the conditions being ten shots at. 500yds and 600yds. The day was beautifully fine, but the glaring light made it very difficult to maintain correct elevation. At 500yds Rifleman J. R. Dow topped the score with 43, his fourth and fifth shots being inners, next host being Rifleman B. Duff (46), ami five others with 44 apiece. At the longer range the best scores were Rifleman J. K. Dow and Rifleman A. W. Forbes, both with 45, and President A. T Graham 43. Rifleman J. R. Dow won the aggregate button and handicap rifle without the aid of his hanricap with the excellent score of 93 off the ride. Following are the detailed scores
