The first wool sale of the Invercargill series was held to-day, a catalogue of over 30,000 bales being offered to a full and representative bench of buyers, including Bradford, Continental, and Japanese interests. An outstanding feature of the sale was the high values ruling for the finer grades of pieces. Some ranged up to 173 d. which in a good many cases exceeded the values -obtaining for the fleece portions of the clip. • Buyers’ views of the Southland clip have been very favourable. .
