Advices from Ivhatniandu state that the earthquake death roll is likely to bo higher than at first estimated in Nepal (Southern Himalayas), where, according to the British Envoy, up to January 21, six days after the disaster, 2,900 bodies had been recovered in the capital. There were no casualties in the British Legation buildings, which were seriously damaged. Every fifth house appears to be have been levelled.
