Foster (vice-president) presiding. It was intimated that the South Otago rink tournament would commence on Saturday, February 10, and Elderly Bowlers’ Day would be celebrated on the same day on the Dunedin Club’s green. Mr W. Hay, secretary of the North Otago Centre, wrote advising that his centre was agreeable to March 24 as the date for the annual match with Dunedin. Miv J- G. Bundle, president of the South Australian Bowling Club, wrote drawing attention to the Adelaide carnival, which would be opened on March 5, It was hoped that the twenty-one centres in New Zealand would bo able lo send at least sixteen players. At a meeting of the council, held in Dunedin on January 12, the following motion was approved;—“That this meeting strongly recommends the annual meeting to approve of the following;— 1 That the council adopt the Australian weight for size of bowls, such regulation to apply solely to composition bowls and any wooden bowls that have been loaded in any manner.’ ” The motion was agreed to, with the exception that the word “ Australian ” was deleted, and the words “ Australian sizes and weights ” were inserted.—-The natter will be dealt with at the annual meeting of the association in July in Auckland.
