CONCLUDED IN FINE WEATHER SILVER DE ORO WINS THE METROPOLITAN v,.: The fine day and a good programme attracted a large attendance at Forbury Park this afternoon to witness .. the concluding day of the Fprbury ' Park Trotting Club’s Summer Meeting. - The track was in fast order, and on' the early races the totalisator invest- _ ments showed a good increase. . All went off well, but, Gaynor. broke at the end of half a furlong, and Journey’s End and _ Prince Harvester led through the straight from Bin- ' gen and Nelson’s 1 ! Lady. Going to the far turn, Bon Haven dropped his driver, and nearly interfered with Prince Harvester entering the last lap, the latter’s' driver having to pull out wide to dodge him. Journey’s End led Prince Harvester along the back and across the top, then the latter ran up ' ; to the favourite. A hundred yards from, ‘ the post Journey’s End broke, and' Prince Harvester ’ beatv him home' six lengths. Wahnooka, who put in a bad break in the last lap, but lost no ‘ground, was eight • lengths off third, and Beatrice Bingen andi Nelson’s Lady next: The winner was the only horse in the race that did not make a mistake. Last over the first four furlongs, then Agile headed off Erin’s; Chance/ and entering the last lap was * racing two lengths clear of Erin’s Chance. - Happy Knight,- and Summit,; who were,racing together. Agile led Sylvia Sydney and Happy Knight along the back, and these three were followed, into the straight by Recess; Agile drew out to win; by two and a-half. lengths from. Recess, who finished very fast and beat Encounter by a length ‘ for second money. Lindrum failed to go away, and Lena Thorpe led Queen Author, Guyziah, and Oro’s Pride for nearly a mile, when the. latter broke. Lena Thorpe led Guyziah and Queen Author to the home turn, where Guyziah ranged alongside of Lena Thorpe and quickly headed her off,' only to be caught ana beaten a head over the last 50yds by Queen Author. Lena Thorpe was ten lengths off third, and Oro’s Pride and Margaret Chenault next. The lastnamed was -pacing in fourth place half a mile from home when sne broke badly.
