ADVERTISING HOARDINGS .CITY COUNCIL'S CONSIDERATION The General Committee of the Gjty Council will report at next Wednesday’s meeting that it has considered the question of film posters on _ advertising hoardings, the opinion being expressed that in the case of . the George street hoarding there were substantial grounds for reviewing the hoarding license' in view of the close proximity of the boarding to the school. This aspect had been brought notice of the licensee. In accordance with instructions the committee considered the letter from the Dunedin Presbytery in which a protest was made against the nature of the fill?! posters displayed on advertising hoardings,' more particularly tho hoarding in George street near the public school. Under the provisions of the “ Cinematograph Films Act, 1928,” it was the duty of . the Censor of Falms appointed under that Act to censor not only all cinematograph films, but film posters and other advertising matter used or intended to be used in relation to any film.
