3DB'S ASTONISHING PRIZE
A free trip to England at test match time for two persona is the astonishing prize, which 3DB is offering to its Smile Away Club members. Two of the best berths on the liner Esperance Bay have been selected, and the trippers will leave Melbourne on April 14. This is the most attractive prize ever offered in connection with an Australian radio competition. Not only will the winner be presented with two return tickets'to England, but will also be given £25 pocket money. A .trip to England in the summer is always something to be remembered, hut when to it is added opportunities for seeing a test match series and the Derby many thousands will be eager to compete for this glorious holiday! The competition is open to all 1934 members of the 3DB Smile Away Club. It consists of naming twelve prominent Australian cricketers whose identity is concealed in a series of pictures.
No entry fee is being charged. The only condition is that every competitor must be a Smile Away Club member. It costs only Is to join the club and membership embraces possible participation in all theatre parties, bay picnics, and other entertainments during 1934.
With the chance of winning' this free trip to England included, the 1934 membership roll should largely exceed last year’s total of 26,000. Every member of the Smile Away Club may send in one entry for the cricketers’ names competition and badge members will he entitled to tn v o entries. To become a badge member costs an extra shilling a year. These members have special privileges apart from an extra chance for the English trip.
