PERSONAL NOTES FROM LONDON
[Frou Our Correspondent.] December 20. I.9‘t'i. Prior to leaving for South America, Lady Wilford, wife of the High Commissioner, gave a very pleasant afternoon party for the womom members of the staff at Now Zealand House. Sir Thomas Wilford was host to all the heads and suh-heads of the various departments of New Zealand House at a luncheon given at the United Services Club. Regret was expressed that ■ ir Thomas was so soon relinquishing : s post of High Commissioner. Mr and Mrs Will Appleton have left ’ the Maloja after a delightful sojourn cr this side of the world. Their tour '•uled Austria. Italy .and Germany, 1 for much of the time they wore 'i Mr and Mrs Easton. ITofossor and Mrs Benson arc now cslahli.-hod for some little time in London.
