GROUP PIANO CLASSES
As will be seen from the advertisement in this issue, Mr W. Paget Gale will resume his popular group-piano classes for young people on Tuesday next. Last year these classes met with a large measure of support, seventy young people attending them. The pupils are taught the art of piam> playing, including technique, tone, and touch, also the theory of music. Each pupil is under the personal supervision of Mr Gale and his assistant, and last year several of tho young ones progressed so rapidly that by the end of the year they were playing Czerny’s technical exercises and dementi’s sonatinas. The group form of teaching is now recognised as an excellent method of teaching 'the young people at tho commencement of their musical training,” and being taught in class the competitive spirit creates a keen interest in the pupil. Dunedin is fortunate in having suen an experienced teacher as Mr Gale to carry on this work. Enrolment may be done with Mr Gale at his studio, the Capitol Buildings (late Bristol), or at the Bristol w,a rehouse, Dowling street.
