LIFE-SAVING COMPETITION

PROGRAMME FOR SUNDAY. The annual competition between the Sumner (Christchurch) and the St. Clair Clubs will be held at St. Clair Beach on Sunday. Contests of this kind are always spectacular, and, judging by the present enthusiasm of the local members, this year’s event promises to be the best and most keenly contested to date. The water work will commence sharp at 2.15 p.m., immediately following the parade of . life-sav-ers, and an interesting and diverting programme of canoe and surf races, etc., will be run off during the afternoon. * The following are tire officials and competing teams: —Superintendent, Mr H.
