CONFERENCE OF TEACHERS [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, January 23. The annual conference of teachers of the Catholic schools of New Zealand was opened in Christchurch this morning, and will be continued 1 until Thursday. Bishops Brodfe (Christchurch), Liston (Auckland) ? and Whyte (Dunedin), are attending the conference, at which 150 delegates representing nearly all the teaching orders of the dominion are present, including representatives of the Marist Fathers, the Marist Brothers, the Christian Brothers, the Sisters of Mercy, the Sisters of Notre Dame Des Missions, the Dominican Nuns, the Sisters of Nazareth, the Sisters of the Sacred Heart, the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, and the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Sacred Bishop Brodie welcomed tho delegates. Father J. Dowling, of Wellington, presided over tho first session of the conference, the subject discussed being P Teacher Training.” • '
