LAST YEAR'S EXPORTS AND IMPORTS BALANCE IK DOMINION'S FAVOUR [Pee United Pkbss Association.] WELLINGTON, January 24. Figures for the overseas trade of New Zealand for the month of December, 1933, show exports to be valued at £4,115,402, and imports valued at £1,945,989. For the corresponding period in 1932 tho figures were £3,270,733 and £2,086,579 respectively. For the period of twelve months ended December 1933, the exports amounted to £41,301,951, and imports to £21,451,382, the balance, in terms of New Zealand currency, excluding specie, being £15,425,000. For the corresponding period of 1932, the figures were £36,965,780, £23,045,106, and £10,964,000. For the same period in 1931 the figures amounted to £35,153,028, £24,812,958, and £8,453,000. The values recorded for exports are the declared f.o.b. values in terms of New Zealand currency, while the values recorded for imports are the current domestic values in countries of export, plus 10 per cent.
