THE INDIAN EARTHQUAKE ESTIMATED AT THOUSANDS (British Official Wireless.) Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. RUGBY, January 19. (Received January 20, at noon.) A map prepared at Kew Observatory from the seismographic records of the Indian earthquake, taken there and at Bombay, indicates that the epicentre of the disturbance was pear the Churia Ghati Hills, ; on the border of, Bihar and Nepal, and at the foot of the Himalayas. It is feared that about 2,500 were killed in Bihar and about 600 at Muzaffarpur, while at Monghyr the unofficial estimates vary from 3,000 to 4,000. BIHAR PROVINCE WORST REPORTS CONFIRMED (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January' 19. (Received January 20, at 12.30 p.m.) Further authoritative information regarding the extent of the damage and loss of lives in Bihar, which suffered most heavily in the Indian earthquake, is awaited. ' Unofficial reports suggest that the estimate of 2,500 killed and 4,000 injured in that province may be exceeded when the survey, which is proceeding under exceptional difficulties,, is completed.
