Dr Yoshitaka Ando, an official of the Foreign Affairs Department in Japan, who is studying the possibility of the establishment of colonies of Japanese in Southern Chili, declared today that the similar climate and the friendly relations between the nations made the conditions ideal for such settlements. He asserted that Japanese capital and labour could build up the Chilian rice and fishing industries.
