COASTWISE MOVEMENTS, John arrived last evening' from Wellington, and is to sail to-night for Wanganui, Ifew Plymouth, and Port Waikato via ports, Waimarino arrived this morning from Bluff. She sailed shortly before noon, for Lytteljfcon, Wellington, Oamaru, Timarn, and Auckland. Wingatui loft Auckland last evening for Wellington,’ Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is due on Thursday. Kini was scheduled to leave Westport to-day for Wellington, Lyttelton, Oamaru, and Dunedin. She should be at Dunedin about Saturday next. Calm arrived from Bluff this morning. She is to sail on Monday evening for Timaru, Lyttelton, .Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. . ; , Port Whangarei is due from Wellington on Thursday to load for Tauranga, Auckland, and Whangarei. Poolta is now due on Monday morning from Wellington. _ She is to sail on Tuesday for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne via ports. Holmdale has been delayed at Wellington on account of a waterfront dispute, and is now expected at Dunedin on January 25. She is to sail the same day for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui via ports. INTERISLAND SERVICE. The interisland express steamer Rangatira reached Lyttelton from Wellington at 7 a.m. to-day. Passengers and mail for the south connected with the express. HAURAKI SAILS. The Union Company’s motor vessel Hauraki arrived from the Pacific Coast via northern ports on _ Friday evening, and sailed this morning for Hobart, Beauty Point, and Sydney. ALMERIC ARRIVES. With 1,500 tons of sulphur for discharge at this port, the Aymeric arrived at Port Chalmers this morning from Galveston via Panama and Auckland. On completion of the discharge of the local portion of her cargo she, will sail early next week for Newcastle' to complete. AKAROA AT LONDON. Advice has been received that the Akaroa arrived at London from Auckland on the morning of January 16. She left the New Zealand port on December 13.
PERSONAL. Captain J. Kennedy is now in command of the auxiliary schooner Te Aroha. The mate is Mr R. E. Entwisle, and the engineer is Mr R. H. Jones. Mr A. Morris has been engaged as second mate on the Kanna, relieving Mr W. Kehoe. Mr D. R. Munro has joined the, Holmglen as chief officer. Captain H.. G, B. Field is in com'mand of the Huntingdon. BRISBANE MARK’S CALL, The Brisbane Maru, now overseas from Japan to Australia and New Zealand, ports, will call, at Hobart before She will arrive at the latter port on February 3, then proceed to Auckland. . > THE HUNTINGDON. In continuation of her voyage from Liverpool the Huntingdon sailed for Wellington,' Lyttelton, and Dunedin on Tuesday morning. Alter discharge the vessel will load for London and west coast ports of Great" Britain at Port Chalmers, Napier, Gisborne, Auckland, Wellington, and Bluff. She will return to Auckland on February 3, on February; 15 she is to leave Bluff for London., CANADIAN SHIPS’ MOVEMENTS. The Canadian Challenger, which left Napier on December 6, arrived at New York last Friday morning and. at Boston on Sunday. She left Boston on Monday for Halifax. The Canadian Constructor, which left Wellington on November 12 for America and' Canada via Australia, arrived at New York on January A, Boston two days later, and at, Halifax on January 9. MATAKANA UNDER WAY. The Matakana left London on Tuesday afternoon for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and ' Bluff. She is due at Auckland Mahout February 23. .. ;. ■ . ANGLO-CANADIAN REPORTED EARLY. The Anglo-Canadian, en route from Newcastle-on-Tyne to New 'Zealand to load wool for Home and/or Continental markets, is now due at Melbourne in January 23, three days earlier than expected. She will proceed to Picton after bunkering at Melbourne; blit t.s yet the remainder of her’ loading ports have not been announced. - • : PORT OF LONDON MEAT TRAFFIC. Eleven vessels discharged meat cargoes in the Port of London during the; week ended November ‘3O; four from Australia,., three from ' South •.America* thrbe""froih "North America, and one from South Africa. Altogether 207,000 carcases of lamb and mutton,, 168,000 quarters of, beef, quantities of pork and rabbits, and approximately 87,000 packages of sundries were distributed to the London market and throughout the country or placed into cold storage. , THE VICTORIA. ' , The Danish motor ship Victoria arrived from Nauru _ Island on Tuesday to replenish her oil fuel hunkers and to unload her cargo of phosphates. She sailed from Nauru op January 6 and experienced continuous boisterous head winds and rough seas almost all the way to Auckland. This is the Victoria’s fourth visit to Auckland with phosphates during the hast twelve months, and her charter in the phosphate trade has been renewed for another year.
